Philosophy of Education
As an educator, I firmly believe in Constructivist Theory and its implications for student learning. My aim is to provide students with an environment that encourages active exploration of their ideas and gives them the tools to become critical thinkers. My teaching style will emphasize student collaboration and communication, inquiry-based activities and scaffolded instruction to support student learning. My students will be allowed to take ownership of their learning and construct meaningful and enduring understanding. By emphasizing the value of dialogue, reflection, and multiple perspectives, I strive to foster an environment for students to become autonomous, self-directed learners and to build a foundation for life-long learning skills.
